It tends to get used by folks who prefer the old style kung-fu movies.
Actually there isn't that much wire(relatively) in flying daggers-not nearly as much as in Croutching tiger, Hero or Iron Monkey.
Fantasy Kung-fu is also called Wuxia, if I understand it correctly.
