has so far proven to be the best of its kind. James bond films have always been a joke, but seem for a long time now to have lost even camp value.I have some minor stylistic quibbles with Identity, whose overall approach I was at first disappointed in Supremacy for departing from (different director, though). But Identity was as much Potente's film as Damon's, and the pace suited both her and his uncertainty about his identity and the dangers they faced and, first and foremost, their relationship with one another, whereas the more frenetic, faced-paced style of Supremacy is really perfectly well suited for the single-mindedness of the lone Damon bent on vengeance. Potente was so crucial to the first film and presented so convincing a character that anyone seeing Supremacy in isolation misses the impact of that film's opening tragedy.
