Acting is over the top? Care to be specific? How? And who? Hilary Swank (you know, academy award winner for overacting in Boys Don't Cry) commented that he is such a good director that she did not even realize she was being directed.I looked at his directing credits in the last ten years, all of which I have seen: Mystic River, Blood Work, Space Cowboys, True Crime, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Absolute Power, The Bridges of Madison County, A Perfect World, and Unforgiven. I cannot think of one performance that was "over-acted", except possibly the older children in Bridges. These films range from good to great.
