Remember it? I lived on it as a teen. I loved it. Bar far my favorite movie back then from the first time I saw it to many times after that. I would pretty much just go into Manhattan to see it whenever it played there.It was such a beautiful film. I guess thinking about it now it predates Cuckoos Nest. But it was an anti-war movie most of all.
The guy with the mustache cutting hair. So into being a barber and getting the chance. Some of the women were beautiful. The comment: "I think they're overacting" to the troops killing each other was a great one.
I haven't seen the movie in about 20 years. So I don't know how I would feel about it today.
If you like movies with that type of emotional undercurrent, you have probably seen already "Forbidden Games", another anti-war movie, Pather Pacheli", a great, great, film, and from the director of that great emotional masterpiece "Bicycle Thief", "Miracle in Milan".
