Smoking in movies...

I'm curious what the Inmates opinions are about smoking in movies. It seems as widespread as ever for reasons that allude me.
Personally, I can't stand it, and find it to be an annoyance--thank goodness one can't smell the smoke while watching! Seldom is it really necessary for the character.
