Re: "When Worlds Collide"

I've enjoyed this movie ever since I first saw it as a kid in the late 60s. I've read the book by Edwin Balmer and Philip Wylie and its sequel "After Worlds Collide", which takes place on the new planet, many times over the years. The movie was great but the novels are the true sleepers and the sequel is actually better the the first one.

I seem to have recalled reading somewhere that a remake of the movie is in the works. That's a shame. Some things should not ever be "remade". "The Poseidon Adventure" is another being remade that will never live up to the original.
