Re: King Arthur on DVD ....

I just finished watching this. I would give it a slight recommendation, largely because I like the genre. But it was far from perfect. What grates on me is when the film industry makes a period piece, and then is too lazy to write a screenplay that sticks to the language of the period, as though they did not have the time to make it authentic, or they thought that the audience was too stupid to notice the difference. Well, maybe they are.

For example, one of the knights has a cockney accent. Lest he was brought up on the streets of Liverpool, which did not exist at that time, such an accent would not exist. There were no other actors that could have given us a true accent? Were we not supposed to notice? I like Ray Winstone, but in this movie?

Was Guinevere really an action hero? The ending battle scene has been seen before, particularly between Clive Owen and Stellan Skaarsgard. Remember Rob Roy (which got the dialog right), or The Patriot? When I was watching the scene met outside the gate before the battle began, I almost choreographed their battle in my mind, knowing what was going to happen.

This nitpicks aside, I would also recommend it, with the caveat that you should be a fan of the genre.
