Home Films/DVD Asylum

Movies from comedy to drama to your favorite Hollyweird Star.

What's not to like? Great story, cutting edge FX (for the time) and atmosphere.

FWIW, the cautionary themes of Man against the unknown & nature unleashed lend themselves to high drama & suspense. Also, the fish out of water theme (i.e., humans trying to survive in Kong's domain and Kong trying to survive in NYC) conveys a great sense of irony. The acting is a little uneven in place, but Faye Wray was an excellent casting choice.

I'm looking forward to this eventually coming out on DVD, hopefully in a pristine restoration print with loads of extras; perhaps with a film analysis/commentary and deleted footage, if any still exists (i.e., for instance, the long rumored spider scene(s), removed before the original release).
