"Sabrina" 1954 and 1995

The original is of course a classic so as I watched the credits roll and heard the virtually duplicate narrative beginng of the remake I thought to myself, "Why bother?". But I stuck with it and it turned out to be just as charming as the Hepburn/Bogart/Holden 1954 version. Harrison Ford has the Bogie role, Greg Kinear the Holden part, and Julia Ormond is the chauffer's daughter. The remake is sumptuously mounted and beautifully shot with multi-channel music most of the time. The drunk father has been replaced by the boys' mother, played to the hilt by the late Nancy Marchand in a pre-Sorpanos turn (she also played ugly duckling Clara in the original "Marty" teleplay). If you love the original (as I do) this is well worth your time.
