I watched this documentary about film fanatics in New York City. It is all right, and I think movie fanatics like some of you here would get a kick out of this. These people watch three to five films a day ... at the theaters. They are NUTS! One guy mentions in passing that he watched 1000 films in one month ("I was overdoing it then"). One woman has saved every ticket stub since her childhood and takes multiple copies of flyers from every show, which she naturally saves. A couple of them explain how they schedule seeing every movie they want to see, which you realize is actually a difficult task when they have to travel around the various boroughs of NYC to catch films that play just a few times. One guy seems to know the running time of every film ever made -- they quiz him on some titles, and even he seems to laugh at himself as he amazingly throws out answers: 98 minutes, 212 minutes.
They all exhibit obsessive-compulsive tendencies. I don't think any of them have sex lives. The one guy who comes across as the most normal of the bunch acknowledge those issues but seems to have made the choice to live with them.
We visit their apartments too, and they are jam packed with books, movie memorabilia and what not. One guy shows off his movie soundtrack collection, and at this point suddenly I am seeing my own album collection. It is a little scary to see an extension of yourself in these people.

One of these days I gotta get myself organizized.
