I guess I was just looking for a little more originality. I have liked several other HK films in the past. Many were great fun. This one though just came off weak to me. Part of it may be the translation.The visual and colors reminded me of the "in the mind" scenes in The Cell. And the opening scene with the monk or preist or whatever running up the temple stairs was straight out of The Last Emporer.
Not sure about the "stick with Hollywood" remark. Seems as though there are plenty of foreign and independents for me to see that I don't have to go slumming just yet.
