PBS Island at War

66.12.207.54

Is anyone else reading these boards watching this series?

It is part of the Masterpiece Theater series on PBS, airing at 8:00pm CST in Dallas/Ft Worth area on Sunday evenings.

I am not a masterpiece theater fan per se, but enjoying movies about WW2, I have found it fascinating. To quote from the PBS web site,

"A riveting view of the German invasion and occupation of the Channel Islands, the only part of the British Isles that fell into Nazi hands, and how life was irrevocably changed overnight forms the backdrop of the gripping drama Island at War."

I assuming all the actors are English, entirely appropriate(!). The German officers are downright scary! They are portrayed as being charming, but they can become cruel at the slightest provocation.

It is a 5-part series (about 80 minutes per episode), and I've seen the first two. It is also available on DVD. High production values, character development, suspense, etc.

all the best, townsend
