After Life (exactly what the title implies; brilliantly written and realized realization of what happens to the dead);
Cold Fever (a Japanese gets culture shocked as he travels through wintery Iceland in a journey to find the place of his parents' sudden death);
A Taste of Cherry (A mysterious Iranian searches for someone to help him die with dignity).
All three films deal with the ultimate experience, death, in brilliantly original ways. I can't imagine a finer trio of films, period.
To those who think modern film can't measure up to the past, see these and weep.
