Y'know, it's not that great of a "movie", as a film.But the story itself is so gripping not even its shortcomings can sink it, and the film is anchored by the two outstanding lead performances. (Their noms were their rewards.)
Don Cheadle is wonderful in it, but then, he's wonderful in whatever he's in. I hope this is the breakthrough role he needs to get the recognition he deserves.
BTW, I thought Imelda Staunton's performance in Vera Drake was FAR and away the best performance of the year, in a year that was full of great performances.
