I'll state up front that I have the picture that the Tom Hanks character is carrying displayed in a prominent spot in my home thaeter, so naturally I have a soft spot for this film. It is a formulaic Speilbrg effort with music by John Williams that is used a lot. Hanks plays a man without a country in an airport, held there because his country has undergone a revolution and the U.S. does not recognize the new government so Hanks' visa is not valid. Stanley Tucci is malevolent as the head of customs and Catherine Zeta Jines is drop dead gorgeous as a flight attendent with an on again off again love interest in Hanks. Along the way the refugee learns English and befriends some of the airport workers. Well made, humorous, and entettaining. This being Speilberg, naturally there is a DTS track option for the sound.
