Oleanna

The film by David Mamet touches on an important subject of sexual and other harassment and our vision of these today, and gives you good flavor of how the whole notion could be perverted and misused.

Surely it rings less lively today than back in the Anita Hill fiasco days, but it is bound to generate strong emotions, and for that alone it is a worthwhile viewing.

It also raises another issue, and that is that we somehow managed to create what it seems like the whole generation with smarts and knowledge, but no heart, soul of any semblance of human emotions. That self-absorbed generation is unfortunately becoming the predominant force in today's politics (insert the name of your "favorite" politician, I know who that would be for me...) and their soul-less approach and "Me Entitled!" battlecry are doing tremendous harm to the very fabric of human relationships and the society in general.

Cold, detached, egotistic, cruel to the core, but all too aware of their rights... what a deadly combination, and Mamet shows us just that sort of character in it's true anti-human glory.

Damned be the world where such creatures would finally dominate.
