You want arty violence? Go no further, this is your cup of blood.
Sure, the 2 hours went by fast; this IS entertaining.
But, the viciousness of the protagonists (they REALLY enjoy mutilating and torturing their victims) makes rooting for them an
impossibility. In other words, after a few minutes, you don't really care what happens to anyone in this film---with one exception. And she also becomes "tainted."
It falls way short of the "Bills" but way ahead of Natural Born Killers.
The extremely stylized look of the movie seemed oddly appropriate and not a self-conscious ploy, as it was in that horrendous Mel Gibson revenge pic a few years ago, or the aleready mentioned NBK.
Skip this one if you're squeamish at all. In this post-Zarquawi world, it strangely doesn't seem as horrifying and shocking as the writer and directors may have hoped.
