This is an early directorial effort from Ron Howard. It stars Henry Winkler as a failed stockbroker turned morgue attendent whose troubles are exacerbated by being assigned the night shist and a spaced out Micael Keaton (his first film role) as an assistant. Winkler has an uptight overweight fiance and a hooker for a next door neigbor (Shelly Long). Eventually Winkler and Keaton become pimps for Long and other ladies of the evening, taking 10% of their earnings, rather than the 70-90% most pimps take. A series of adventures befalls all the chaacters, with a romance brewing between Winkler and Long. Uneven but enjoyable. I had this on a pan and scan laserdisc but scoffed up the anamorphic wide screen DVD for $5.00.
