It was a mixed trip, with plenty of time allowed for fun.The biggest one perhaps was driving one of the Russian cars on the dilapidated Russian roads at neckbreaking speeds. After some of those rides you feel like the demolition derby winner, as usually there are as many "lanes" on the unmarked roads as you can fit cars... with an inch each to spare. After a while that becomes your second nature, though.
The car that has all its idiot lights permanently ON ("Oh, just ignore them... these cars rarely break" I was told by the rental office guy... he turned out right!), shakes like a Soiuz rocket at 100kph, but becomes quiet again at 140, and has torque steer that is bound to break your wrist if you let it. In dense traffic simply lifting off the gas and slamming on brakes will make your car jump two feet to the left.
Charming...
But on positive note, there is still plenty of good cheap beer (around 50 cents for a half-liter bottle) and good food is easy to find.
And as far as the Russian women... girls... they truly deserve the special chapter... a whole book, and perhaps we best leave it at that, as children are watching, but don't just take my word for it - experience it at least once, so you too will become a walking wounded under the skies sliding towards the White Nights and with the never ending night life all around you.
And some of them can even cook...
