I know she is trying to broaden her roles but Meg Ryan is hust not right for this story of professional boxing's first female fight promoter. She takes a raw street fighter and with the help of an old friend coach and also "the best cut man in the business" molds him into a champion. Laden with boxing movie cliches all the way through, including a miraculous comeback at the end. The beginning is shaky but I stuck with it and it got better about a third of the way through.
