The Godfather: Pt. II of comments:

You think this film is "realistic?" Oh, c'mon, you're being played like a bib-overall wearing hic.
Michael: oh so cute and a war hero (!): a reluctant murderer who has to be dragged kicking and screaming to become the head of a murdering mob;
Sonny: a big-hearted and even bigger-schlonged machoman who is BRAVE and even foolhardily so, loves his Daddy!;
Robby Duval: a hard-working orphan, taken in by (yup) big-hearted Godfather, who oh so badly wants the family to go legit---and begs people to accept that famous offer and save themselves some bad mornings;
the Don's enemies: all nasty little guys, not a hunk in the bunch. Evil pigs that, gasp, sell DRUGS!
Gee, the Don is even shown to be a warm-hearted, loving grandfather, too.
Oh, forgot to mention the one rat in this happy little family: the dirty-cheating, back-stabbing F (what the hell's that name,again?) who justly gets his reward from the new "Caesar" before the weasely Brutus could stab him.
Yup, this is one documentary style, realistic portrayal.
Not.
Schlock from beginning to end, just like the book it's based on by Puzo. The difference? Puzo had the decency to portray the family in more honest, brutal colors.
