I was flipping channels and stumbled over the Housekeeper. I saw it when it came out, and I think once more, but I just started to watch it again. Much can be said about the soft and intelligent style of many French movies, with this one truly representative, and Claude Berri's directing is completely captivating, albeing very simple. Simple story, good actors (I love Jean-Pierre Bacri) and soft music and images - and you feel like you are swimming in the Mediterranean sea in July...And... it shatters the old goat fascination ala Lost in Translation and puts things into their right places. Mercilessly, too.
