It hasn't been announced on the TV Shows on DVD site yet, but someone on the Serial Squadron site was notified earlier today from Warner Bros. that the 1st season of this much anticipated series will (finally) be available in stores on Oct. 18th [Note: Verification that this is indeed happening along with additional info can be found at the Superman TV Net site and is linked below].The first season contains 26 episodes, and based on my recollections it has much more violence and suspense aimed at a mature audience; it's very pulp-like right down to the music. Also, Phyllis Coates has a much better take on Lois Lane, her portrayal of the character as a serious, savvy reporter, being infinitely more believeable than her successor Noel Neill (my opinion; YMMV).
As this is being released by Warners, the remastering/restoration of these old filmed shows should be pretty darn good! Oh, BTW, did I mention that the msrp will only be $39.98 (i.e., before the wholesalers and discounters get it)! :o)
