Home Films/DVD Asylum

Movies from comedy to drama to your favorite Hollyweird Star.

what?...

The same director gets a chance to redo the movie with a better budget and you don't think it can be any good, before you even see it? I would at least reserve comment until I have seen them both to make a comparison. They may each be enjoyable in different ways. You never know, you may be surprised and find the new version a great refinement of the original or a complete waste of time. I know that remakes and sequals can be poor, but it's not automatic.
I would agree before seeing it that it is likely to be done in a way that makes it more accessable for an american audience. That is what Hollywood is about, making movies for americans and for profit. Sometimes they get it right and sometimes not, but given the original direction, it sounds like they want to keep some elements very similar which may be distracting to someone who have seen the original, but would not be an issue for a first time viewer. Only time will tell.
