Fonda is brilliant, too, as is Keaton. So many good performances: this is what most people don't get about Tarantino: he casts strong actors, writes great parts for them, and gets dazzling performances. Behind all his technical smarts and skills, Tarantino still is the best director around at getting consistently high-quality work from his "stable."
A clever plot that keeps you guessing, lots of tension because of the psycho nature of Jackson and DeNiro, and the charming love story between Jackie and the private dick: what more can you ask for in a detective thriller?
