There are countless movies that take a while to work themselves. Plenty of LOUD noises later in the film but those were the parts I DIDN'T care for because they had the modern 'choppy, grainy and stumbling' camera shots to convey action. Yes, the characters were quite lucky having not been caught fleeing every antagonistic element under the sun, and a joke to that effect was made later in the film. You may have been happier if you'd stayed and walked out 5 min BEFORE the end. Sorta like a weak portrayal of Logan's Run but without Ustinov. Still glad I saw it though.
