should be alone on that list. Even today, Lucas would have a hard time topping those effects. Brilliant casting. Hits every science fiction cliche way before they became cliches. The beginning and the end of space sci-fi.Here's a few off the top of my head:
Blade Runner
Gattica
Alien (the first was all anyone ever needs to know)
the Time Machine
20,000 Leagues
Journey to the Center of the Earth
Ice Pirates
Something's wrong on Saturn V---no wait, that's a Western, I'm losing it now, better quit before I embarass myself.
