Just picked up this excellent oversized hardback by Gary Gerani.
The book highlights various sci-fi and fantasy USA TV series from
1949 to 1977, illustrated with over 400 photos. Part I contains
sixteen series and info about each, including an index of every
episode ever made for each series, with director,writer,cast and plot
synopsis. I watched 15 of the 16 series while growing up; here is
the list according to my favorite preference: (1)The Twilight Zone;
(2)Star Trek; (3)The Outer Limits; (4)The Invaders; (5)Superman; (6)
Lost In Space; (7)Thriller; (8)Kolchak: The Night Stalker; (9)The
Prisoner; (10)Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea; (11)Space: 1999; (12)
Rod Serling's Night Gallery; (13)Batman; (14)The Time Tunnel; (15)
Land of the Giants; (16)One Step Beyond - (never watched).
Part II has info on a number of other USA and British series, plus
animations and made-for-TV movies. Some of the USA series covered
are Alfred Hitchcock; Atom Squad, Buck Rogers, Captain Video, Captain
Z-RO; Commando Cody; Flash Gordon; Gemini Man; My Favorite Martian,
Rocky Jones, Space Ranger,Space Patrol, Science Fiction Theater, and
Wonder Woman. The British entries include the very popular Quatermass
Series, The Avengers, Dr. Who and Out Of The Unknown.
