There are WAY too many inconsistancies for me. Okay, Baltar doesn't have a chip in his head and he's not crazy. The cylons can't be detected by any means, because there's no difference between them and the humans. The cylons can get pregnant. Riiight. If the cylons have this level of technology, that they can create LIFE, not just a simulation, then the humans are SO effing outmatched there's no contest.
If THAT was the story, that would be one thing. But the writers don't even realize how far out they've gone.
Oh yeah. The issue sidearm is the 9mm? Gimme a break! They could think of nothing better? I don't have a problem with slugthrowers, not at all. But a 9mm? That's not even a good cartridge for our level of technology, so why would an advanced society use it? Plus, it's a lousy idea to be shooting metal slugs on board space craft...has a nasty habit of going places that can prove fatal to lots of your shipmates. Think ferrocrystal.
And so on and so on and so on.
I've watched all the eps so far, but I doubt I'll be back in January. I love sci-fi, but Ronald D. Moore screwed up Carnivale after a promising start, and he's showing that he can't deliver over time.
