Favorite film/TV-music composers? Triggered by the thread on the AFI list...

...how 'bout we vote on our favorite composers of music for film and TV?

If you vote for, say, NMT 10, I'll tabulate the votes and report occasionally. I'll start with my faves.

Jerry Goldsmith, John Williams, Miklos Rosza, Bernard Herrmann, Max Steiner.

My 'almosts'? Korngold, ... hmmm...

A few nominations for GREAT film music no one has mentioned:
Patrick Doyle's 'Henry V', Arthur Bliss's 'Things to Come', Aaron Copland's 'The Tender Land', Richard Addinsell's 'Warsaw Concerto', Robert Farnon's 'Captain Horatio Hornblower*', Ralph Vaughn Williams's 'Scott of the Antarctic', Richard Rogers's 'Victory at Sea'.

* I can recall ANYTIME that glorious sweeping opening motif for French horns.
