the goal of the copy protected CD is to force the consumer to play alternate files on the computer- some protected format like Windows Media Audio. Therefore, the CD may in some cases try to install a driver on the computer that prevents the disk drive from reading the actual normal CD (wav) files. This is not the way copy protection on a DVD works. For the time being, I think you're safe from DVDs that try to install executables on your machine.
