First, my beloved Huppert stooped to the degrading "The Piano" teacher. Now, it's "Ma Mere". Playing a sexually supercharged Mom (slut as she refers to herself) she dallies with nearly any and all comers while tempting her only child whom she sent away when he was young. This movie is provocative showing a lot of aberrant sexual behavior in a fairly graphic style. I presume it would help for me to be French to understand what the hell the point was as I tuned out the story and stared at the screen to see what contrived aberration would pop up next. Not for everybody.
