Director Terrence Malick shot this in 70 MM and the anamorphic DVD does a decent job of showing off its merits. This is one of the most beautiful films ever shot and many scenes could be frozen and be a work of art. Richard Gere and Brooke Adams are an item but pretend to be brother and sister. They go to work at a north Texas wheat farm owned by rich landowner Sam Shepard, who becomes smitten with Adams and marries her. She continues toi fool around with Gere3, with predictably tragic results. I only wish I had seen this in its original presentation.
