"The Good...
1. Well developed relationship between Kong and Anne Darrow...(some people in the audience openly wept at the ending)"Including my wife. I OTOH thought that entertaining a 25 foot gorilla with vaudville was pretty lame to say the least. That was the turning point of their "relationship" was it not?
"2. Some BEAUTIFUL scenic shots...especially the ending with Kong on the Empire State Building..."OK. I have seen better any number of times but it wasn't bad.
"3. Naomi Watts (the poor-man's Nicole Kidman)"Poor man's? She is excellent. Not a poor man's anything.
"4. LOVED the overall look of the film!!!"Not me. Looked like they ran out of time and money to me.
"5. Some great CGI scenes....especially the boat landing on Skull Island" Are you serious? That was some of the worst digital compositing I've ever seen. You have to go back to old Godzilla movies to find worse compositing. They must have run out of money."The Bad
1. Jack Black...he can play mediocre comedy...but was entirely miscast in this role!"I like Jakc Black but I have to agree. this was not a good choice.
'2. Someone explain to me who decided that Adrian Brody is a Leading man!!! Please... this guy has all the sexuality of a wet-noodle!
3. Can you say CGI....the dinosaur stampede and bug scenes were meaningless and didn't add depth to the story line other than 15-20 minutes of at best mediocre special effects!"Agreed. not to mention that the action was ridiculous and way over the top. I have no patience for this kind of crap any more. Sooooo stupid.
"4. Where did they dig up those natives!!!! THEY were scarier than Kong!!!!"
I liked them. I thought they were gritty and interesting, at least a bit.
"5. And finally...HEY Peter Jackson!!!! Can you tell a story in less than 3 hrs??? I didn't think so.....'
It was way too long. I was very ery disappointed in this movie, not that i had high expectations. How this movie is getting any kind of critical aclaim is beyond me. I really disliked it.
