some of the best products are unknown.
I am a fearless explorer, going to any country of origin for good fare------ and often being rewarded.
Unlike many film-addicted/infatuated, I appreciate mainstream releases, when they're worthwhile.
But, unlike just about any other medium, film has many great guys toiling in obscurity. The very closed distribution system is to blame.
To a lesser extent, the wine industry has a hierarchy which is superb, but smaller wineries which rival the best well-known ones exist.
It amazes me that so many intelligent, thoughtful types here, with huge personal dvd collections, never comment on these lesser known gems.
Travel to a small town in Wisconsin.
In it, you will find many Uma, Winona, and Sarandon personas.
Thank God there is something left to discover in this consumer-relentless world.
