This is a curious film. It starts with an overly clever (think rock video) sequence of the life of a bullet from manufacture to being used to kill someone... hey that doesn't sound too bad... shot from the point of view of the bullet.
Then cage starts talking to camera...
ONe of the constant images as he stalks the horror zones of the world is how he always seems to be able to find a clean white shirt and get his suit pressed.
He miraculously rises from selling one gun to trading enough to fight wars and then luckily has an uncle in charge of military stores for... the Ukraine as the USSR crumbles.
Now this film does have its heart in the right place, but its brain is elsewhere. The plot twists are not very twisted, even predictable, and even the bit about where the title comes from is so ridiculous.
You could pretty much cut from the end of the opening where the bullet has hit someone to the words over at the end and be done with it.
The characters are plain unbelievable, Cage and his brother especially.
The president of Liberia, in fact the whole LIberia sequences just seem far too lacking in true evil even as you watch people being killed.
For me, very disappointing.
