I found it slight in a bad s ense, not just a "small" film, which is good in an intimate, personal not universal way, but this failed for me at times.
I would especially pick out the 2 policemen who seemd to be talking almost parrot fashion as if trying to sound unbelievable.
And our "hero"'s desperation seemed to come too easily for me, being driven to violence and in fact, with the inclusion of the neighbour, to far too much violence without any inclination for it.
THe first time they make love ( British weayher or what???) seemed to improbable for words even ignoring how tricky it would have been for them to go back into the house.
You could almost believe Woody made it just to see a beautiful young woman close up and... semi-unclothed.
But that would be out of character wouldn't it...?
