Juliette Lewis plays a high powered corprate attorney forced by her firm to do pro bono work to fill out her resume' so she can be promoted to partner. The case she is assigned involves a young Afgan woman refugee in the U.S. illegally with no papers and seeking asylum. The INS is trying to dport her. Lewis takes the case reluctantly and does a haphazard job until reprimanded by the judge. Over time, however, she gets involved to the point of letting her corporate work suffer. Very well written, directed, and acted and a frightening portrait of what life was like for woman under Taliban rule. Recommended.
