There's nothing new happening except that Paradise Now is trying to show both faces of the coin. What I found really great about this movie is the contrast between 2 Palestinian ideologies. One that is intent on using violence to solve and end occupation , the other to deal with Israeli occupation in a more civilized way with the notion that violence only begets more violence. I favour the latter, especially when this violence is targeted against ordinary and innocent civilians.

You also get to know that the father of one of the guys was a traitor, having been an informant helping the Israelis. As a contrast, you also know the girl's father was a local hero. Despite this, the girl was still against violence and is always opting for peaceful ways.

There are supporters from both camps who want this dilema solved peacefully. Mutual trust is mandatory between both parties and until this happens, we may see more violence and more innocent blood shed from both sides. However, I'm very optimistic this will eventually see the light of day.

I enjoyed the movie a lot. I think it was also very moving. The dialogue was simple yet great. I see see no reason why the pro Zionists should be against it, this is the stark reality in Palestine
and could remain so unless both parties are really willing to sit down and solve their differences.

Easier said than done ? maybe and maybe not.
