I watched this because I had posted on it after seeing "Memphis Belle". I was surprised at how good the aerial combat scenes are in this earlier film. Steve McQueen is an arrogant hot shot B-17 pilot and Rober Wagner is his co-pilot. They are both after the same woman, which leads to a split in their friendship. McQueen is excellent in this role. Many of the same situations occur as in "Memphis Belle" ( delays, feathered engines, crashes, etc.).
