"Double Indemnity"

Billy Wilder and Raymond Chandler wrote this screenplay based on the celebrated novel by James M. Cain. Crack insurance salesman Fred McMurray is instantly smitten by Barabara Stanwick, who seduces him inro a complex murder plot to get rid os her husband. After the murder and unbeknownst to McMurray Stanwick takes up with her step daughter's former boyfriend. Meanwhile, insurance claims executive Edward G. Robionson thinks something is fishy about the supposed "accident". Told in flasback narration by McMurray, similar to the weay we learn the story in "Sunset Boulevard" six years later. A classic that never disapoints and highly recommended.
Tunesmiths may note that a song on the radiop, "Tangerine", was not written until 1942 although the story takes place in 1938.
