An overweight Marlon Brando has but three or four scenes on this heist movie starring Robert Di Nero and Edward Norton. Di Nero is a jazz club owner in Montreal who also is a skilled burgler. As the movie opens he has a close call on a job and is almost caught. He resolves to quit. Brando, his fence, approaches him with another caper, this one the theft of a priceless sceptre closely guarded in a Montreal warehouse. Brando wants Di Nero to team with Norton, who pretends to be a retarded man and who has cased out the warehouse. Di Nero finally gives in against his better judgement and an uneasy alliance between the three is formed. I have seen better heist movies but this one is skillfully done and worth a viewing.
