"The Spirit of St. Louis"

This is a straight forward telling of the evnts leading up to Lindberg's historic 1927 crossing of the Atlantic plus the flight itself. It of course does not get into his politics or his romance. Jimmy Stewart is well cast here and conveys a sense of what Lucky Lindy was like. The aerial sequences are well done and the early Cinemascope cinematography is well composed. Billy Wilder contributed to the screenplay ans also directed. Franz Waxman did the score. Fun and good history for young people.
