Lawrence Kasdan wrote and directed this sexy modern film noir set in Florida. In a plot similar to that of "Double Indemnity, Kathleen Turner (her first role, I think) seduces lawter William Hurt into mudering her husband and placing the body so that it looks like the husband (Ricahard Crenna) was killed while committing arson. The local police are suspicious, however, and as the noose tightens it becomes clear that Turner has other tricks up her sleeve, The steamy atmosphere is greatly heightened by John Barry's moody score, Mickey Rourke and Ted Dansen have small but effective roles. Truly a classic, one that holds up over repeated viewings.
