Wolfganf Peterson directed this taut thriller anout an aging Secret Service agent with a questionable past (did he fail to save Kennedy?) who is investigating a threat against the current president. Crosscrossing across the country he finds time to woo fellow agent Rene Russo and butt heads weth superiors and the White House Chief of Staff. John Malcovitch is chilling as the brilliant psycho plotting to kill the president. This one holds up over multiple viewings. The scene where Eastwood is hanging off the building (reminiscent of "Verigo") is chillilng, particularly on the big screen.
