DaVinci Code

I know this film has not been well received here on the Asylum but I saw it today and enjoyed it.

The 'so called' wooden performances by Hanks and Tatou I thought were fine, I accepted them as they were and it did not ruin the story and they are preferred to overacting which is a pet peeve of mine. The comparison to National Treasure is valid but I preferred this movie because I cared more about the characters in it where NT is more of an action flick with thinking thrown in for effect. I like Reno but his characters story was kind of left hanging and of course it is always a pleasure to see Ian McKellan.

As far as the story I do not care if it is not completely clear, I got the general gist of things and the plot twists made sense and the movie moved forward.

I am not trying to start a thread here just a recommendation to those who might think they would like to see the film, and FWIW, Ron Howard, as he makes more movies, makes them less sappy and this one coddles the audience less.

thumbs up!
