R-Point - ROK's, ghosts, and VN 1972 . . .

With a hint of Apocalypse Now and Saving Private Ryan, a patrol of nine Korean soldiers head out to Point Romeo to search for another patrol that went missing six months earlier. Strange radio messages are still coming in after all were missing in action and presumed dead. A squad of short-timers are assembled to take a seven day tour of Point Romeo without being fully briefed as to why they are going.

Weirdness begins and slowly intensifies after they arrive at R-Point as they find it is a sacred Viet Namese ground where several tragic military losses have occured. Slowly, but surely, people start going crazy and seeing weird stuff only to be inhabited long enough by a spirit to get themselves killed.

It was fun seeing how another country would portray VN but the plot and acting should have been left at home. I give this war-horror story a solid 2 out of 5.

Ex nihilo, nihil fit . . .
