Beyond The Sea

This has only just opened here.
Kevin Spacey produces, directs writes and stars in a biopic of Bobby Darin.
Its almost like TRistram Shandy when he talks to the child playing the young BD on the set of his own film about himself but moves on through Elvis/Bollywood type scenes and Hollywood musicals of amore Guys And Dolls/West Side Story sort and allsorts of other things in a pacey 2 hours.
A little all over the place but you get a real feel for this man with the talent desire and "the plan" to become a success.
I enjoyed it hugely.
Its great for a wet afternoon on a SUnday (as it was here).
Its kitschy and its rat packy and its mainly the 50s and then everythign changes... as it did in America. And so did Darin.
Its an American tale.
See it.
