weaker "Match Point."
Woody plays... well, Woody. He's funny as hell. At least five jokes had me guffawing loudly.
No, not a classic by any means but damn good entertainment.
Scarlett is maybe 15 pounds overweight but does a far better job than in "MP."
Jackman proves he is not much of an actor: kind of a taller, buffer Keanu. Wooden delivery, amazingly small range of expressiveness both vocal and facial.
This is Woody's picture and he delivers, especially for a guy his age, an energetic and hilarioius performance.
Oh, the plot?
A serial killer is stalking London and Scarlett, a student journalist, follows the signs pointing to Jackman's character.
He is the son of a Lord yet the film misses many opportunities to poke fun at the Brit upper class: Woody is no Preston Sturges, Bunuel, or Renoir, that's for sure.
But, in a summer of crap, this light comedy stands out.
