Hollywoodland: worth it for one thing:

Ben Affleck.
Ben effortlessly loses himself into the role of Reeves and gives a bravura performance.
The film has grandiose plans as an expose, mystery, love story... and pretty much fails at all three.
Adrien Brody terribly is miscast and for the first half of the film drives the viewer crazy with all sort of nervous facial and fidgety mannerisms.
Diane Lane is fine, as is Hopkins, though neither approaches others who have played these roles (both are staples of typical Hollywood-insider films). Neither has anything new to add, either.
The problem with this film is it has too LITTLE Affleck. When he's not onscreen, the film goes flaccid.
Finally, though the screenplay is poorly focused, there are more clever lines here than in any other recent film, no mean accomplishment.
